SIP-tember is in full swing! We told you about the Julia Child birthday kick off which took place August 15th, or what would be her 103rd birthday (or did you miss our story?).

Well, now the brackets have been announced and some of the drinks competing sound divine.

This is a great reason to take your sweetie out on a date or have a fun night with friends. It is also an excuse to get out and try all of the best drinks in town (as if you needed one).

You can vote for all of your favorite cocktails online on the city’s interactive bracket. There are different rounds within the bracket until the big winner is revealed at the finale event at the Rose Bowl.

Here is an example of some competitors that you should get out and try.

Del Frisco’s Grille VIP Cocktail is up against Magnolia House’s Chloe Comes to Pasadena. The VIP Cocktail from is made with Sweet Hawaiian pineapple-infused Svedka Clementine Vodka. Chloe Comes to Pasadena is a mix of vodka, St. Germain, fresh grapefruit juice, fresh lime and Campari. However will you choose? They both sound crisp and refreshing, so maybe drink two of each just to make sure.

In another round, Alondra Hot Wing’s The Guma is competing against Otis Bar at Le Grande Orange’s Limelight. The Guma is a blend of Malibu Rum, strawberry puree, pineapple juice, cranberry juice, Taijin, lime juice, rimmed with Chamoy and Taijin that is garnished with a lime wedge. The Limelight contains Frida Kahla Blanco tequila, elderflower, lime, cucumber and serrano. They both sound simply sublime.

If you want to walk on the wild side try out this round. El Cholo Pasadena is entering their Habanero Martini and the White House Lounge is offering up their Forbidden Sour. The Habanero Martini is made with Vodka, habanero peppers, and cocktail onions. The Forbidden Sour is concocted with Absinthe wash, organic maple syrup, organic fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, egg white, Templeton rye whiskey, and grapefruit bitters. Is your mouth puckering in delightful anticipation yet?

So make plans now to get out, sample the competitors and vote all month long.
