Come celebrate women’s achievements at Women At Work’s Annual Reaching For The Stars Gala at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2015, at the University Club of Pasadena, 175 North Oakland Avenue, Pasadena. The Gala will benefit Women At Work’s efforts to assist clients to gain skills to secure employment in today’s changing environment.

The star-themed Gala will sparkle with dinner, entertainment, live music by the Hollywood Rhythm Kings and more. Phyllis Currie, Sandra Burton Greenstein, Jane Templin and Kaiser Permanente will be honored for their successful work, philanthropy and long-time support of Women At Work during the awards ceremony. The Gala will feature Honorary Chair Peggy Phelps and Event Emcee Jan Sanders.

For 36 years, Women At Work has helped thousands of people of all ages find employment and reach their full earning potential. Women At Work is the only non-governmental job and career resource center in Pasadena that helps individuals move into successful careers and become empowered. Employment is important because it empowers people to reach career goals and support their families.

The services of Women At Work are needed more than ever because of rapid changes in technology, higher expectations of workers and increasing global competition. Women At Work’s clients are predominantly women, ethnically and culturally diverse, who lack the skills required to secure a new position. Often times, they have limited financial resources to invest in job training.

Different clients have different needs. Sheryl had employment gaps to overcome and needed to become relevant again. “Women At Work became the place where I renewed my confidence and became reacquainted with my strengths. A place where I felt supported and valued. Where I met so many stunningly, talented people who were experiencing various employment obstacles. I also became a regular volunteer working in the front office, marketing events and volunteer fairs. Working with the amazing staff and these experiences reinvigorated and inspired me,” said Sheryl, a Women At Work client.

The ticket price for the Gala is $175. For ticket information, visit www.womenatwork.org.
