What’s fashion without fabulous hair and make-up? You can wear the finest dresses, the hippest shoes, and most glamorous accessories, but if your hair and make-up is a mess, everything else will be.

It makes sense then that two sponsors of the Metropolitan Fashion Week 2013 Closing Gala and Runway Show represent two vital aspects of fashion: The Paul Mitchell School of Pasadena and CAO Cosmetics for hair and make-up.

The two companies are not strangers to huge fashion events as well. Peggy Lee, director of Paul Mitchell the School says, “we did this kind of event in the past, we did multiple LA Fashion Week, Beverly Hills Fashion Festival, so basically this is something that we do to get highly trained future professionals to experience their learning outside the classroom.”

The event will be held at Pasadena City Hall, the Crown Jewel of Pasadena, 100 N Garfield Ave on Saturday, October 26. “We’re going to create the runway right in front of the City Hall for models to walk,” says Lee. With seating for 400 to 700 persons, “It’s a huge show.”

Presented by CTL Wireless, the Metropolitan Fashion Week Closing Gala & Runway Show will celebrate the world of fashion designers and costume designers in the following categories: Avant Garde, Period Time, Fantasy, SCI-FI and Contemporary.

To give you an idea how early sponsors have to come in, and how long they have to work for something relatively short in span, Lee says that Paul Mitchell and CAO Cosmetics will be setting up for the show at around noon, “but the show would be an hour and a half long, and it’s letting VIPs aroun 6:45.”

The 95-minute fashion show will feature 15 designers and over 150 works of art created by national and international designers and costume designers. “Basically, we have the designers coming in from Italy and also coming in from the Philippines. So, this is like an international show as well,” says Lee.

Other participating countries will include” Sweden, Venezuela, Mexico and the USA.

The runway show will start at 8:15 pm, while doors open at these times:

Media – 6:00 pm
Platinum Circle – 6:45 pm
