Book it. Chef Bruce Kalman and his partner Marie Petulla have opened Union, a 50-seat restaurant and bar featuring a California interpretation of Northern Italian cuisine. The restaurant officially opened its doors last night.
Kalman, a James Beard-nominated Rising Star Chef, winner of both Chopped and Knife Fight, pickle master and alumna of such celebrated restaurants as Park Avenue Café in New York, Spiaggia in Chicago, Il Piatto in New Mexico, Chelsea’s Kitchen in Phoenix, The Misfit in Santa Monica and The Churchill in West Hollywood, brings his slow and soulful approach to fresh, local ingredients and turns out a menu at once rustic and elegant.
