In keeping with the League’s mission of supporting nonprofit organizations in the Pasadena area, Grant checks of $1,200 each were given out at the April 3rd luncheon at the Women’s City Club to three very appreciative organizations. There are so many worthy nonprofit groups, it is always hard for the League founded in 1911 to choose one over the other.

On hand to accept the checks and give the league their thanks were Kardia Pinckney, Director of Ideal Youth, Inc.; Deborah B. Lewis, Development Coordinator, Convalescent Aid Society; and Gwendolyn Eberhard, Director Speech and Language Center and Michelle Cox, Director of Development for Villa Esperanza Services.

Women’s Civic League First Vice President Sandy McConnell and Board member Rita Elshout put in a lot of effort at this annual well attended event.
