Talbots, the women’s apparel chain, and San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity are partnering in a noble cause to raise funds for Desiderio Homes which will launch nine low-income families in Pasadena on their way to homeownership.

The Desiderio Development broke ground in April as San Gabriel Valley Habitat’s first opportunity to build affordable homes in Pasadena since 1992.

On Thursday, August 25, Talbots will donate 10 percent of pre-tax sales on all merchandise purchases made by customers taking part in the “Share the Fun and Make a Difference” Shop for a Cause event, for the Habitat for Humanity Desiderio project.

Customers can shop for modern classic fall styles at Talbots at The Shops on Lake Avenue and enjoy light refreshments, while at the same time helping complete the homes for low-income families.

The Desiderio Community, a collaborative project between the City of Pasadena, the U.S. Army, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity. The community will consist of nine (9) single-family affordable homes, three of which are reserved for veterans, and the Desiderio Park, which will be built just east of the historic Colorado Bridge in Pasadena.
