The 13th annual Sri Lanka Day Festival, hosted by the Sri Lanka Foundation, brought a rainbow of colors, music and food to Paseo Colorado on Saturday. This all-day festival paid tribute to the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka, also known as ‘The Pearl of the Indian Ocean.’

As Mayor Terry Tornek said, “This [festival] is the essence of Pasadena diversity and culture.”

The day included traditional dance, song and theater performances as well as juggling and fire dance acts. There were also food and clothing vendors plus a bouncy castle for kids.

Dishan Jayasingha, the President of the Sri Lanka Foundation, summed up the importance of the event, “It is so deeply important in this day and age that we come together and are proud of your culture.”
