South Pasadena High School students bested about 95 other schools to win first place at the California State Virtual Enterprise Competition and Trade Fair at Robobank Convention Center, Bakersfield from December 3 to 4, 2013.

The students, who represented the company Oasis, won first place in Best Salesmanship and in California State Business Plan Sales and Marketing category. Oasis also won third place in Sales Presentation and third place in Perfect Pitch.

Senior student Jeffrey Xiong won first place in Advanced Website by coding an elaborate website from scratch. His batchmate, Jennifer Orr, won third place in Company Catalog.

Annie Lu and Jenny Wang, another seniors, and junior student Amy Choi won first place in the Marketing Plan Competition.

South Pasadena High School also bagged first place in the same competition last year when they represented the company Expedition.

This year’s winners, as well as second placer Murrieta Valley High School (West Coast Races) and third placer Bakersfield High School (PureFit), will go to the National Business in New York City in April 2014. They are set to demonstrate their skills, knowledge and talents in entrepreneurship, communications, computer technology and global business management.
