Sierra Madre’s public library was filled to the brim as more than 700 friends and neighbors joined the festivities at the Library Open House on October 11. Residents enjoyed speaking with 12 local authors, a family bubble program, and breakfast furnished by Bean Town. There was also classical guitar from Sierra Madre Music and a teen docent local history presentation. DVD rentals were free for the day and visitors explored downloading free ebooks, using Ancestry.com, and New Book Alerts.
The Friends of the Library offered a special mini-book sale in honor of the occasion and author Michele Zack joined the Sierra Madre Historical Preservation Society with copies of her award-winning book about Sierra Madre. The Library trustees staffed the event, along with the Friends of the Library and the Sierra Madre Historical Preservation Society.
