Dear Families and Friends of Saint Mark’s School and St. Mark’s Church:

The Board of Trustees of Saint Mark’s School is delighted to welcome Jennifer Foley Tolbert to her first day of employment as the new Head of School. Jenn is the sixth Head of School, and takes over from Doreen Oleson after her 25-year tenure. Jenn’s professional credentials and experience can be found at http://www.saint-marks.org/page/786135_Head_of_School_Transition.asp.

Many of you have already had the pleasure of meeting Jenn at the various events she has attended at the School and Church since the announcement of her appointment last June. Jenn will also be holding a number of gatherings this summer to meet members of our community in smaller groups, and we hope you will take advantage of these opportunities to introduce yourselves and to get to know Jenn better.

In addition to Jenn Tolbert, we are pleased to announce the appointment of three new Trustees to the Board. Doug Jolly is the Dean of Student Life and Varsity Boys’ Soccer Coach at Polytechnic School, and a member of St. Mark’s Church. Doug and his wife Heather have three children and Makaela will be in Pre3 this Fall. Joanna Scott is the CEO of Cranbrook Financial Office Services, Inc., and is also a member of St. Mark’s Church and a member of the Vestry. Joanna and Graham are parents to Jackson who is entering Sixth Grade, and Matilda who is entering Fourth Grade. Ed Ramirez is an Investment Operations Specialist at Dimensional Fund Advisors and is also a member of St. Mark’s Church. Ed and his wife Kara have three children: Sophia (Class of 2014), who currently attends Polytechnic School, Bianca, who is entering Sixth Grade, and Elias who is entering Third Grade. We would like to thank all of our new Trustees in advance for the service they will provide to the Board and the School in the coming year.

We wish you all a very happy, healthy and safe summer vacation.
