Pasadena Christian School’s Joyful Sounds choral group has been selected to perform in “Holiday Celebration” an Emmy award winning holiday special celebrating its 57th year. Joyful Sounds, under the direction of Barbara Allen, will perform two songs live in front of the Dorothy Chandler theatre audience and broadcast live on PBS SoCal KOCE and pbssocal.org.

Presented by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, hundreds of audition submissions are received every year from professional and amateur performers and performance groups across the Southland. This will be Pasadena Christian School’s first appearance on this broadcast.

About Holiday Celebration

Each year since 1959, the Los Angeles County Arts Commission has produced a free Holiday Celebration on December 24th on behalf of the LA County Board of Supervisors. Community and professional choirs, music ensembles and dance companies representing the diverse cultures and holiday traditions of the region perform at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion at The Music Center while the program is broadcast live on public television. Between 3,500 to 5,000 people attend the live show each year and a half million Southern Californian households tune in to the television broadcasts. The live telecast on PBS SoCal KOCE is produced by CDK Productions.
