Based on Mayfield’s 7th and 8th grade technology elective and Junior MITs program, the workshop, From Student to Teacher: Designing a Student Run Technology Leadership Program, considered the challenges of teaching and learning in the 21st century, and offered a model for a course that not only provides a strong technology curriculum, but also gives students the opportunity to become active leaders and reverse mentors by providing technical support to teachers and students. The four students all members of the Junior MITs team, shared their knowledge and enthusiasm for the program with attendees in a Stump the Junior MIT Q&A.
