On Sunday, May 17, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. the Pasadena Unified School District and the Pasadena Latino Coalition will be presenting the annual PUSD Latino Recognition Ceremony. The event will take place on the Pasadena High School Campus.

Residents, teachers, students and parents are invited to attend the free event.

The purpose of the Latino Recognition Ceremony is to celebrate students’ personal success and academic achievements in the spirit and tradition of Latino cultures. The celebration is dedicated to our families and is bilingual.

Keynote speaker will be Salomón G. Dávila, Dean of Economic and Workforce Development, at Pasadena City College. Emcee for the event will be actress, director, and writer, Rose Portillo. Attendees from each of the schools in the PUSD will be in attendance. The ceremony will begin with a blessing led by Aztec Dance,Yankuititl.

Members of the Pasadena Latino Coalition include: Actors/Actores en Español, Adelante Youth Alliance, Community Health Alliance of Pasadena CHAPCare, Community Organization of Pasadena for Advancement in Education, Flintridge Center, Latino Heritage, Mothers’ Club Family Learning Center, National Hispanic Media Coalition, Office for Creative Connections/All Saints Church, Pasadena Mexican American History Association, Peace Over Violence, Planned Parenthood Pasadena & SG.

PUSD Latino Recognition Ceremony will be held at Pasadena High School’s Gladiss Edwards Auditorirum, 2925 E. Sierra Madre Blvd., Pasadena on Sunday, May 17, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m..
