Moms have to sacrifice a lot for their kids and their family.  One of those sacrifices is the body she used to have.  Even if mom is lucky enough to get plastic surgery to help her get back to normal, the recovery time can be long and uncomfortable.

Going home immediately after surgery might even stress her out. And staying in the hospital for recovery isn’t always an option—it can be extremely costly and could increase the risk of infection.

“The average cost at the hospital…it’s anywhere from $800 to $1,500,” says Erion Taylor of Trinity Aftercare. “At the hospital you are at a higher risk for infection but that’s just the nature of being in a hospital.”

A busy hospital isn’t exactly the most conducive place for personalized care and recovery.  With higher workloads, nurses at large hospitals can only dedicate a small amount of time per patient and for those in recovery, they might get overlooked when other patients require more immediate care.

“Our nurse to patient ratio never goes above three to one,” assures Taylor.

Taylor adds that Trinity Aftercare nurses understand what the patients go through after surgery.  “Patients don’t look the way they think they should right after surgery…and that’s very common. Surgeons and nurses in the field know that that’s common. Patients often think that, you know, ‘Why did I do this to myself?’”

Trinity Aftercare will provide emotional support to their patients who feel a bit lost. “We celebrate what they’ve done to better themselves and we understand what they’re going through. We have a team of nurses who understand what the patient feels.”

Think of staying in Trinity Aftercare as a well-deserved vacation, too. Taylor says, “A lot of our patients are the Mommy Makeover patients. Now, the moms obviously have children at home. Here, they have an opportunity to have mini vacation, have a couple of days to really rest before they can go back home.”

It doesn’t hurt that Trinity Aftercare is located within The Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena and that all meals are provided by their award-winning kitchen.

So if mom is getting a makeover, take the time to truly invest in not only her physical but also mental recovery.  There are dedicated nurses waiting to help.
