The Langham Employees Volunteering at Foothill Unity Center Event

Foothill Unity Center Back to School Drive

Every student knows how it goes: come to school the first day, meet your new teachers, listen to classroom procedures, and pick up necessary school supplies. School supplies are a necessity but they are not always easily accessible for all students.

For those looking for assistance in gathering necessary school supplies, programs such as Foothill Unity Center exist. Foothill Unity Center’s Back to School Program is designed to assist the community by providing new backpacks, uniforms, and other school supplies to low income families.
Children grades K through 12 are provided with the essentials for starting a new school year such as backpacks, clothing, haircuts, shoes and much more.

Foothill Unity Center’s annual Back to School Event also provides: an array of resources and activities donated by community partners and supporters such as free dental and vision screenings. The goal is to help over 1,200 low-income children (grades K through 12) prepare for a successful school year.

This year’s event was held on August 9th at the Santa Anita Race Track and had a great turnout from the local community, including The Langham Huntington, Pasadena, where employee volunteers donated hours of their time and collected over $1,000 worth of school supplies before the drive. Foothill Unity Center had over 1,200 families attend the back to school distribution event!
