The Holy Family School in South Pasadena is applying for a GOOD Maker Grant. It is $100,000, to help make Los Angeles schools the best place to learn. In their application Holy Family School described themselves as “[offering] cutting-edge academic excellence with an educational mission that brings together the ideals of learning by doing, a positive self-image and looking beyond our immediate surroundings to make our world a better place.”

The Holy Family School has plans beyond just the scope of their own building. On their application they promise to use the grant to “impact the over 550 school and religious education students we serve. This includes students from preschool through high school.
They want to reach beyond their immediate campus to the many schools we partner with and make their unique curriculum available to students of all socioeconomic backgrounds through a community summer program with scholarships.

Learning through service is a cornerstone at the Holy Family School and their wish is that this grant will continue to make learning through service a real world possibility. They hope to impact the community and make their school a better place with help from the GOOD Maker Grant.
