The 2014-2015 Hillsides Guild president Armida Baylon poses with Hillsides director of development Carrie Espinoza at a recent event.

The Hillsides Guild, a volunteer arm of Hillsides, recently gathered at a private club in Pasadena for a well-attended annual meeting and board installation luncheon.

Some 50 Guild members and guests were on hand for the lunch and installation of the 2014-2015 board, which consists of Armida Baylon, president; Maureen Staley, 1st vice president, programs; Cathy Brennan, 2nd vice president, membership; Donna De Mond, communications secretary; and Elizabeth Keller, treasurer.

After the lunch, the group enjoyed a fashion show hosted by Magnolia Boutique in Arcadia, CA that featured Guild members as models.

The Hillsides Guild, founded in 1987, puts on events to raise money for Hillsides and plans activities for the children who live at Hillsides. Some of the group’s biggest annual events are a Day at the Races fundraiser at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, CA and the Christmas benefit at the Parkway Grill in Pasadena, CA. This year, the Guild also donated $10,000 to Hillsides annual fund campaign and $10,000 of a $25,000 commitment to the agency’s capital campaign for improvements on Hillsides main campus in Pasadena.

The Guild is always looking for new members who would like to join this dynamic and caring group of women who are committed to improving the lives of children who have experienced trauma.
