Black. If you think this polish it too “goth” think again. This neutral color looks sophisticated on neatly trimmed nails. Try a shiny or shimmery black for a less serious look.
Charcoal. Black’s lighter cousin is a great choice if you’re not ready to take the plunge and try black polish. This shade is especially flattering in matte.
Ruby. This timeless classic is a perfect shade to coordinate with lipstick. Don’t be afraid to test out few shades before you find your perfect match.
Navy. All the appeal of black without the harshness. Navy is an underused neutral tone that works well with most skin tones and is appropriate for all occasions.
Plum. This rich hue warms skin tones and makes an unexpected statement. Draw attention to this lovely shade by keeping shine to a minimum.
If you’re unsure, test out these polishes on your toes or start using them as an accent color. Try painting four nails a neutral color and making the fifth, usually the ring finger, a bold hue. Take a risk and plunge into fall.
