The Friends of South Pasadena Library’s Restoration Concert Series presents Robert Thies, pianist at the South Pasadena Public Library’s Community Room. Robert Thies will perform “A Voyage Through Europe” on Sunday, September 18th, 2016, 4:00 p.m.

Program includes:

I. Vienna: The Poets and Romantics – Beethoven Sonata in E flat Major, Op. 31 no. 3 (1802) “The Hunt”; Schubert: Impromptu No. 3 in G flat Major, D. 899 (1827); and Brahms Intermezzo in E flat Major, Op. 117 no. 1 (1892).

II. Moscow: The Mystics – Rachmaninoff: Prelude in G sharp minor, Op. 32 no. 12 (1910); Scriabin: Etude in C sharp minor, Op. 2 no. 1 (1887); and Scriabin: Etude in D sharp minor, Op. 8 no. 12 (1894).

III. Paris: The Impressionists – Debussy: Clair de Lune from Suite Bergamasque (1890, rev. 1905); and Ravel: Gaspard de la Nuit (1908) – Trois poemes pour piano d’apres Aloysius Bertrand.
