This year’s unexpectedly chilly winter may make you want to stay indoors and crank the heater up to full blast but those who venture out will be rewarded. Motivate yourself out from under that down comforter and sip on a hot cocktail from The Raymond’s new winter menu.

This hot toddy variation is made with Akashi Japanese whisky, Matcha green tea, layered condensed milk cream, and honey. This smooth and soothing drink is called The Improvement and was created by Cameron Masden. Not only does it improve your mood, but this toasty drink may just improve your mind.

As with all of the Raymond’s winter cocktails, this drink has a historical reference. It refers to Kaizen, a school of thought, centered on the idea of continuous improvement which was introduced to Japan in 1960 by Dr. W. Edwards Deming. He was awarded the 2nd Order Medal of the Sacred Treasures by the emperor for his efforts.

So sip this warm cocktail and dream up how you will improve yourself in the new year.
