Take a trip back in time to and enjoy a romantic cocktail that’s reminiscent of a Prohibition era drink. Although many things have changed since the 1920s, love and cocktails have endured.

Lounge in the outdoor patio or take a seat at the bar for a sip back in time at the The Raymond. Peter Lloyd-Jones, the bar manager, explains that his cocktails are made the way they would have been in 1926. The Raymond focuses on vintage flavors with a few modern updates and their Valentine’s menu is no different.

Fresh, vibrant and seductive the 1926 Vodka Cosmo is shaken up with vodka, fresh raspberries, fresh lemon and house-made simple syrup. This fresh, fruity cocktail shaken – not stirred has a bright taste. Lloyd-Jones explains that in Prohibition it would have been made with raspberry preserves instead of fresh berries but we’re glad for the update.

My Valentine is perfect for sharing with your Valentine; mixed up with Cognac, Peychaud bitters, Absinthe spray, sugar and a lemon peel. The spray of Absinthe is an alternative to rinsing the glass and provides a flavor and aroma that lingers. This Valentine’s themed drink is a play on their popular Sazerac and includes the supposedly medicinal Peychaud bitters which come from a New Orleans apothecary.
