This summer can be the time for your children to discover their passion and acquire different skills including swimming, cooking, baking, fashion design and comic book creation.

Clairbourn School will hold its five-week Summer Advantage 2014 program for preschool, kindergarten and grades one to eight from June 23 to July 5.

Children from three to four years old may enroll in preschool advantage program that will teach them to improve their social skills, as well as their knowledge in math, literacy, science, social studies, arts and crafts, music, as well as engage them in story time.

There will also be games and indoor and outdoor free play during the 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon classes. A mid-morning snack will be provided.

The kindergarten advantage program, meanwhile, can be taken for a half-day session session from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, or full day from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Kindergarten students will learn arts and crafts and science exploration, and will engage in games, story time, and daily outdoor pool or water play. A mid-morning snack will also be provided.

Children joining the kindergarten program must be five years old by September 1.

Grades 1 to 8 students will be able to choose their own set of summer classes to take up based on their interests, including art, math, writing, science and sports all to be taught by teaching professionals.

The grade school and middle school students may also learn cooking, baking, aerospace engineering, comic book creation, comic design, fashion design and academic reporting, among others. The preschool advantage program and the kindergarten half-day program costs $750. The full day rate for the kindergarten summer program is $1,250. The rates for the grades 1-8 advantage program classes vary, but a deposit of $50 per class is needed.

Space for Clairbourn’s Summer Advantage 2014 program is limited. Full payment is due and registration is until May 16. Students may still sign up until the first day of classes depending on availability of slots.

Classes for all grades will begin at 9:00 a.m. The school requested the students to arrive on campus between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. The school said no classes will be held on July 4. All students must be potty trained and have solid understanding of the English language.
