The Pasadena Playhouse District buzzed with excitement on Saturday. Art Walk welcomed local artists to sell and share their work on Colorado Boulevard. This diverse art show featured paintings, pottery, photography and jewelry.
Mariko Bird showcased fine art high fire ceramics while C. B Fraser and Dolores Lusitana displayed their whimsical Haiku Cat drawings and poems.
A live jazz band serenaded the crowd while guests perused jewelry like The Bread Tag Collection by Natasha Piccio of Scarlet Rope, these distinctly shaped pieces help benefit people living on Skid Row in Los Angeles.
Art Wall extended to include businesses with their own art installations like the soda tab art and paintings by Yume in Monopole Wine and the crosswalk art by Cynthis Luna and Hataya Tubtim throughout the Playhouse District.
The Pasadena Playhouse celebrated Dia de Los Muertos with altars, an outdoor gift market, marionette show and food and drink deals from redwhite + bluezz. Dia de Los Muertos is a Mexican holiday that honors departed loved ones with altars and celebrates life with festive food, candy skulls, drinks and mariachi music.
Even if you missed the fun on Saturday, many of the art installations will be on view during normal business hours so stop by and immerse yourself in art.
