California 27th District Congresswoman Judy Chu is sponsoring another photo contest this year that will feature the best of the San Gabriel Valley.
The competition is open to residents in her congressional district, and will follow the theme #Bestof27.
The Congresswoman said they received “so many wonderful responses” during last year’s first photo competition, so she decided to hold it again.
“This year’s photo competition is all about celebrating the best of the San Gabriel Valley,” Chu said in announcing the opening of the contest. “Our district is home to great hikes, national monuments, world renowned museums, and amazing local shops and restaurants, just to name a few. Now I’d love to see what you think is the #Bestof27.”
The photo must be an original photo that is not heavily manipulated.
“It must capture something you think is the best of CA’s 27th District,” she continued. “This can be a family meal, a park, a piece of architecture… you name it! The rest is simple. Once you’ve got your picture, email it to me at [email protected] by July 14th in order to be eligible to win.”
Chu said each contestant may submit only one photo. Whichever becomes the winning photo will be framed in Congresswoman Chu’s Washington, DC office for one year, and it will also be featured as her Facebook cover photo.
Interested residents are advised to follow her Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts to keep themselves informed about the progress of the competition. Through these accounts, every San Gabriel Valley resident will be given a chance to vote and eventually select the winning entry.
Voting will begin on July 15, Chu said, and winner may be announced on July 18.
