Step into a waffle wonderland and indulge in all the flavors the sugar plum fairy can dream up.
Unlike most waffles you can get around town, Waffles de Liege makes Belgian-style waffles that are a dessert-worthy treat. Thier waffles are made with yeasted dough rather than batter, which gives them a heartier texture. Each waffle is cooked at high temperatures to caramelize the pearl sugar imported from Belgium.
Is that wasn’t enough, the Waffles de Liege has a rotating selection of ice cream and waffle combinations piled high with toppings. This season, they’re offering Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream, and whipped cream with pumpkin pie spice piled high on a classic Belgian waffle.
“We pair the ice cream with the waffles. I find that Fosselman’s French Vanilla is their best vanilla for [our waffles],” said Lawrence Tai, the co-founder of Waffles de Liege.
He adds that the classic is also a popular choice but his personal favorite is the Speculoos Special with Taro ice cream. Tai told us that next flavor on the menu is a Peppermint Waffle and seasonal hot chocolate for the holidays.
