Wednesday, March 8 – The Wurst Fundraiser at Dog Haus Biergarten Pasadena
Support Union Station Homeless Services and enjoy gourmet all beef skinless hot dogs, hand crafted sausages and premium burgers made with 100% all-natural humanely raised hormone and antibiotic free beef, all served on grilled Hawaiian rolls at – where else? – Dog Haus in Old Pasadena.
Wednesday, March 8 – Women’s City Club of Pasadena ”Helping Hands Happy Hour”
The Women’s City Club of Pasadena is having a “Helping Hands Happy Hour” in celebration of International Women’s Day. It is assembling gift bags for the women who frequent Pasadena’s Friends in Need’s “The Women’s Room” day shelter. The following items have been requested: Large Bath Robes, Kaftans, Shower Shoes, Body Spray, Nail Polish, Make-up Kits. A FUNdraiser “Wine Toss” will also be held where participants take their chance throwing rings around the necks of wine bottles in order to win them. Wine has been donated by Via One Hope Wine and proceeds will benefit Pasadena’s YWCA. This is a great opportunity to gather with incredible women and make an immediate impact on the local community while having FUN! If you are not already a WCC Member, this is a great way to sample the Club and the many events the club offers its membership.
Saturday, March 11 – Making a Difference Benefit Luncheon ”For the Love of Women”
Join Altadena-Pasadena Soroptimists at Brookside Country Club for their second annual Making a Difference Benefit luncheon. With a theme of “For the Love of Women,” this event will recognize former State Senator Carol Liu and former Pasadena Library Director and Pasadena Women’s Rally organizer Jan Sanders with Legacy awards. Southern California Women’s Health Conference Founder Lena Kennedy will be honored with a Best for Women award for her leadership in the community, and will be the keynote speaker at the luncheon. Additionally, Door of Hope and The Women’s Room at Friends In Deed will receive monetary awards to honor their work in helping homeless women and families in the San Gabriel Valley. Don’t miss this opportunity to see community leaders on one stage at this pivotal event! There will also be a raffle and silent auction, as well as an Easter Parade of hats and handbags modeled by Business Life Magazine’s Women Achievers of 2016.
