It’s one of the great parks of the world. Magnificent trees, the dramatic Kings’ River and newly renovated Cedar Grove Lodge make Kings’ Canyon the perfect spot for a quick getaway or a leisurely stay.
And you can leave right now. Normally open Memorial Day weekend, the Cedar Grove Lodge opened on May 8 this year.
Travel and adventure seekers can take advantage of the early opening with an authentic national park experience, complete with creekside location and sweeping views of surrounding canyons, mountains, and forests. The 21-room lodge is a perfect base camp for traversing trails and hitting nearby must-sees like North Dome, Grand Sentinel, Zumwalt Meadow, Roaring Falls and Muir Rock.
The Cedar Grove Lodge is also getting a facelift. The renovations include updates to furniture, bedding, drapery, new paint, art and more. Guests will be able to see some changes right away, with the complete remodel wrapping mid-summer.
While usually booked solid in summer, this early opening is the perfect opportunity to check out one of Kings Canyon’s lesser-known gems.
Why are you still sitting there? The Canyon awaits.
