Any good foodie will tell you that some of the best food takes place at the restaurant that looks least likely to deliver. Those small restaurants, those hidden back alley restaurants and your mom-and-pop joints tend to have the best food around. Pasadena’s very own Pie Hole is no different. Their menu hits it out of the park and it is definitely not just pie.

Pie Hole is one of Pasadena’s best-kept secrets—in fact, you may have walked right by it and not even realized it was there. It’s located in the rear of The Indiana Colony, a tight knit group of food, beverage and other vendors dedicated to serving inventive and delicious creations you won’t soon forget (one such vendor is Cool Haus ice cream).

Their mission is simple and may cause you to swoon in delight: “Happiness One Slice at a Time.” Their menu is impressive and their prices are good, too. The greatest part is that the Pie Hole does not stop at dessert—the menu also features pie-like creations for breakfast and lunch, as well.

Strawberry and Lavender Hand Pies with homemade whipped cream sounds like something out of a fairytale. How about Bacon Buttermilk Coffee Cake? Yes, please! Mom’s Apple Crumble is sure to hit the spot on any busy morning. Fall is coming up—the perfect season to try the Maple Custard or Great Grandma Moe’s Pumpkin Pie.

In the mood for real food? The Chorizo Breakfast Hand Pie sounds like the perfect way to start your day off on a good foot. A Shepard’s Pie is one of the ultimate comfort foods around and is sure to please.

Need a jolt? They have a great coffee selection, too. They have it all from Pie Hole Organic Drip to Café Au Lait to Macchiato. They have specialty lattes too, such as the dirty caramel and salted chai.

Every delicious morsel is baked from scratch daily and all the coffee is Fair Trade Organic.
