As seasons change, so too does Flintridge Proper’s Cocktail Menu. To capture the essence of fall, the Proper’s own bartenders have whipped up a special cocktail menu that will help you appreciate the season more.

Angel Meza, one of the Proper’s head bartenders, has whipped up a concoction, called ‘The Indian Summer,’ made up of Ford’s Gin, Old Forester Bourbon, Mathilde ‘Pear’ Liquor, Cinammon/Apple Puree, Fresh Lemon, and Local Honey for a cocktail to celebrate those fleeting warm days that surprise us every once in a while.

John Peet, created a cocktail to honor the Kentucky town where his family used to gather to celebrate the change of seasons. The drink, called ‘Somerset, Ky.,’ is a mix of Benchmark Bourbon, Local Honey Syrup, ‘Scottish’ Pumpkin Puree, and House Aged Bitters.

Bartender Kristin invented the perfect autumn tipple, concocting “Irish Spice” with Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey, Allspice Dram, Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth, Cranberry Juice, and Orange Bitters for a drink that gives a nod to her Irish heritage. Her other goal when she fashioned the drink was to incorporate autumn flavors without making the drink too sweet.

What she’s come up with captures the essence of Autumn beautifully in a libation that is balanced enough to be enjoyed all year round.

Last, but definitely not least among the bartender-mixed drinks, is the ‘Switzer Bramble’ by Tobias. An elixir composed of Burnett’s Gin, Fresh Lemon, and Seasonal Berries topped with crushed ice, the drink is named after the famed Switzer hunting camp that once graced the foothills just North of the Proper. A fresh take on a class of drinks called ‘brambles,’ Tobias found inspiration for this drink through his own childhood memories of Autumn, picking wild berries in the forest.

In addition to the Proper Bartender Originals, the restaurant’s Fall Cocktail Menu also features New Barrel-Aged Cocktails that include, among others, the Proper’s own ‘Barrel-Aged Vodka martini,’ ‘Barrel-Aged Greenpoint’ and ‘Red Hook.’

Finally, the Proper is also introducing new and improved Gin and Tonics to match its flavors for fall, not just summer. These G+T’s include:

PEAR + MINT
(CapRock Colorado Organic)

CUCUMBER + ROSE
(Hendrick’s)

STRAWBERRY + ROSEMARY
(Tanqueray Malacca)

CHERRY TOMATO+ BASIL
(Caorunn Small Batch)

Of course, if you haven’t done so, you can also try out the Proper’s very own Flintridge Native Botanicals Gin, in-house made gin that aims to capture the flavors of the Foothills.
