Spend the evening relaxing in the stylish Perry’s Lounge in Pasadena’s dusitD2 Hotel Constance. This luxury hotel is offering two complex cocktails for SIP-tember and a variety of small bites and snacks to pair with them. Order a Fun in the Sun summery drink or try a darker tasting Smoky and the Bandit cocktail.
Fun in the Sun is a refreshing summer cocktail made with a few unexpected ingredients. It features kumquat simple syrup that was steeped overnight, Buffalo Trace bourbon, fresh lemon and a shiso leaf. Brown liquor is an unusual choice for summer but this smooth bourbon mingles with the bright kumquat syrup and aromatic shiso leaf to make a refreshingly smooth drink.
Perry’s Lounge is also offering a new take on an Old Fashioned, called Smoky the Bandit. This cocktail stars Granny Smith apple-infused bourbon, smoky single malt scotch, angostura and orange bitters served in a maplewood smoked glass. This richer cocktail also features bourbon and comes garnished with a candied apple slice – it hints at the flavors of fall.
Pair these drinks with signature Cal-Asian dishes on the bar menu as you lounge in the otherworldly Perry’s Lounge. Order a plate of Duck Spring Rolls or Vegetable Spring Rolls to share and enjoy the colorful Green Papaya Salad which features shredded green papaya, rainbow carrots, taro chips, cilantro, mint, thai chili, nuoc cham and a sprinkling of peanuts.
Stay on the lookout for sushi which will soon be on the dinner menu. Currently rolls are only offered on Wednesdays but you can satisfy your sushi craving with Shrimp Tail sushi or have a taste of the sea with the Octopus Carpaccio – made with jalapeno, grapefruit, wild arugula and miso vinaigrette – which is on their bar menu already.
