Ferrari Club of America Southwest Region (FCA Southwest Region) captivated multitudes of automotive enthusiasts on Colorado Boulevard yesterday with a stunning array of vintage & contemporary Ferraris, innovative sponsor displays and annual concours.
Concorso Ferrari, FCA Southwest Region’s signature annual event , entertained all with a full field ranging from a classic 1950 166 Berlinetta to the impressive 2014 F12 Berlinetta. Prominent displays included the 2003 360 NGT racecar, which delighted the crowd with a spirited demonstration of its evolved race engine and the majestic 1962 400 Superamerica once owned by a French connoisseur, the Directorship of Cartier International.
Ferraris from 2002 and earlier were judged in the Ferrari exclusive concours. All vehicles were judged following FCA National guidelines IAC/PFA (International Advisory Council for the Preservation of Ferrari Automobiles) and awards were presented in (10) classes, `Best of Show’ and `Best Car on the Street.’
The event’s `Best of Show’ award was presented to Rick Principe of Westlake Village for his elegant 1966 275 GTS bodied by Pininfarina.
The `Best Car on the Street’ was awarded to a beautiful 1952 212/225 Barchetta bodied by CarrozzeriaTouring in the care of the Petersen Museum, Los Angeles.
This premium event entertained the most discriminating of enthusiasts. As noted by a seasoned concours attendee, “Very impressive! The event was so well organized and laid out, it rivals the major concours d’elegance events around the country. The grouping of cars by era was ideal, allowing owners to share stories and compare cars, and enabling spectators to see the evolution of Ferrari in a timeline display. All of this in a festival atmosphere!”
