The Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD), California School Employees Association (CSEA) Chapter 434 and Teamsters Local 911 will celebrate the contributions of classified school employees Tuesday, May 13 as part of the Appreciating Classified Employees (ACE) program.
The ACE program is held in advance of Classified School Employee Week, which is May 18 – 24, and is a collaborative effort between the school district and its classified unions that includes job shadowing of classified school employees by district administrators. Principals, board of education members and district level administrators will witness first-hand what custodians, food service workers, paraeducators and other classified employees do on a daily basis. The event will build understanding within the district and recognize the hard work classified employees do to take care of students every day.
Among the district administrators and board members participating include PUSD Superintendent Jon Gundry who will be shadowing a food service worker at Franklin Elementary School and PUSD Board President Scott Phelps, who will be partnered with an office manager at Roosevelt Elementary School.
