Pasadena resident Darrell D. Miller, Chair of the national Entertainment Department at 750-attorney Fox Rothschild LLP and Managing Partner of the firm’s Los Angeles offices, was honored as the 2016 Entertainment Lawyer of the Year by the Entertainment Law Section of the Beverly Hills Bar Association (BHBA), at its annual Awards Dinner on May, at The Beverly Hilton.
Miller, the author of The 16th Minute of Fame: An Insider’s Guide for Maintaining Success Beyond 15 Minutes of Fame, is nationally recognized for his innovative strategies for effective brand building for his clients.
The star-studded evening featured musical tributes to Miller from three of his Grammy Award-winning clients: rapper/actor/entrepreneur Ludacris (Fast & Furious), singer/songwriter/producer Donald Lawrence and actress/recording artist Brandy Norwood. Warm and poignant tributes about Miller and his impact on the entertainment industry were also given by actors Angela Bassett, Courtney B. Vance, Khadijah and Malika Haqq, NeNe Leakes and Rocky Carroll; writer/director/producer Robert Townsend; author/filmmaker T.D. Jakes; attorneys Mark Silow, Virgil Roberts and Leroy Bobbitt; his wife Shannon Miller; and international evangelist/teacher/author Paula White.
Shaun Robinson, author, producer and Emmy award?winning journalist, hosted the festivities. Proceeds from the event support the BHBA’s education and community outreach programs.
The Entertainment Lawyer of the Year Award honors leaders in entertainment law for significant contributions to the profession. It has been presented annually since 1989 by the Beverly Hills Bar Association, which has the largest entertainment law section of any bar association in the world
