The results are in and Eggland’s Best is excited to announce the Grand Prize Winner in the 2014 Eggland’s Best “Your Best Recipe” Contest! Lidia Haddadian of Pasadena has claimed the “Grand Prize winner” and “Appetizer category winner” titles with her “Southwestern Tostada Bites” recipe submission. Along with her new deserved titles, Lidia will be taking home a total of $11,000 and a year’s supply of Eggland’s Best eggs.

“I am thrilled and proud to have won the Eggland’s Best ‘Your Best Recipe’ Contest with my egg dish! Winning the Grand Prize from a food company that I love is such an honor. I have used Eggland’s Best eggs for years and I love their great taste and nutrition,” said Lidia Haddadian. “Whether serving it for brunch, as an appetizer or as a snack, my ‘Southwestern Tostada Bites’ are a family favorite and I am happy to share the recipe with all of EB’s fans!”

Eggland’s Best has also announced winners in the Breakfast, Main Course, and Dessert categories. They are:

•Breakfast Category Winner- Patricia Powell of Wooster, OH for her Poached Eggs with Serrano Ham and Garlic Braised Asparagus
•Main Course Category Winner- Pamela Lloyd of Wichita, KS for her Sunshine Potatoes
•Dessert Category Winner- Julie Merriman of Seattle, WA for her Flourless Chocolate S’mores Cake

“These winning recipes are delicious, and really highlight Eggland’s Best’s better taste and nutrition compared to ordinary eggs,” said Donna Pochoday-Stelmach, the first winner of the Eggland’s Best “Your Best Recipe” Contest. “The variety of dishes from the winning recipes really showcases how versatile Eggland’s Best eggs can be and how they can be used in all types of meals.”

Category Finalists were judged by a panel of culinary experts on a variety of criteria including taste, creativity and visual appeal. Each of the category winners will be awarded a $1,000 cash prize.

New to this year’s contest were the “Kid-friendly” and “Fan Favorite” Awards. The “Kid-friendly” Award was given to the recipe that allows kids to easily and safely assist their parents in the kitchen, and the “Fan Favorite” Award was chosen based on consumers’ votes on the Eggland’s Best website.

Winners of the “Kid-friendly” and “Fan Favorite” Awards are:

• “Kid-friendly” Award Winner- Michele Kusma of Columbus, OH for her Dutch Apple and Honey Noodle Kugel
• “Fan Favorite” Award Winner- Najwa Fakhouri of Troy, MI for her Lamb and Tomato Sauté
