A very merry celebration was thrown Thursday at Parsons Pasadena headquarters for more than 100 children of Rosemary’s Children Services, Hillsides and Five Acres. Parsons has been organizing this fun-filled event for the last 40 years but this year was “the biggest and best yet.”

Chuck Harrington, Parsons’ Chairman and CEO, welcomed the children to the party.

“We have so much, it’s important to give back, “ said Erin Kuhlman, who has been organizing this event for the past 40 years. “It’s a great joy, every year it’s a great joy.”

In addition to a taco bar, bacon-wrapped hot dogs, popcorn station and holiday cookies baked by Parson’s employees, the party features live music and dance performances by Ellis Hall and Kin Dance Company, both of whom are partners with MUSE/IQUE, a counter-conventional orchestra based in Pasadena.

The musical presentation, entitled “JOLLY/BEATS,” featured holiday and pop favorites as well as an interactive street style dance performance.

“Every human being who lives and breathes – from womb to tomb – deserves the pleasure of live music,” said Rachael Worby, the Founder, Artistic Director and Conductor of MUSE/IQUE. The innovative performance group also hosts the KIDS/IQUE program that brings performers like Ellis Hall and the dancers of Kin Dance Company into local schools.

The kids got a chance to jam with the performers and the afternoon ended with a visit from Jolly Old Saint Nick.
