Everything was possible.
Young & Healthy held its 15th annual fund & friend-raiser, “It’s Possible”, Saturday, October 11, at the home of Manuel & Jane Abascal in Altadena.
Approximately 200 people attended the event, which included a short reception before the one-hour program. After a musical welcome by the Sierra Madre Glee Club, Young & Healthy board member Laura Babcock welcomed the guests and introduced Executive Director Mary Donnelly-Crocker, who provided the guests with an update about Young & Healthy’s ability to “unmask” health care for community children. She then invited Emmanuel & Bolanle Akih, the parents of a patient, to speak about the assistance that the organization has provided their daughter.
Board president Darrel Done elaborated on the work that Young & Healthy continues to make possible for children who would otherwise go without health care.
This year’s “It’s Possible” event was sponsored by the Helen & Will Webster Foundation and PhRMA. The Helen & Will Webster Foundation has offered Young & Healthy a $100,000.00 challenge grant for all donations made to “It’s Possible” by the year’s end.
Young & Healthy’s mission is to provide access to high-quality health care to uninsured and underserved children and families and to improve the quality of life for all children in the greater Pasadena area through prevention, education and enhanced health care services.
