On Saturday, July 18, Huntington Memorial Hospital hosted Love Your Heart – a Women’s Health and Wellness Event, in partnership with the American Heart Association, to raise overall health awareness in the Asian-Pacific Islander community. The event featured informational booths on topics such as – heart health, women and children’s services, cancer screening guidelines and treatment options, and nutrition. Participants received acupressure tips, complimentary screenings on blood pressure, breast health information and learned the skills necessary to save a life with hands-only CPR.

 

Jeannie Shen, MD, medical director, breast surgery, Huntington Hospital and Ying-Ying Goh, MD, health officer, City of Pasadena, offered attendees presentations focusing on important lifestyle and nutrition guidelines to help reach overall wellness. Theresa Lin, celebrity chef, demonstrated how to make a heart-healthy meal.
