Come on down y’all for some Gumbo, music, and good times! It’s time to enjoy a taste of Louisiana in your own backyard at this bonafide feast.
Chef Claud Beltran is proud to host the 8th annual Gumbo Fest Pasadena on Sunday, September 27th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and this time, it’s in a new location. Taking advantage of his new space in North East Pasadena, this year’s Gumbo Fest will take place in the sizeable parking lot of Bacchus Kitchen.

Come hungry, because the real star at this event is the all you can eat gumbo. Claud’s Mumbo Gumbo features delicious chicken and andouille with green onions, served with a fresh slice of a baguette. The feast by no means stops there: Claud is also firing up his Le Shrimp Boil, which is Mexican white shrimp boiled in garlic, lemon and tabasco served alongside a garlic aioli.

There’s even a Southern style salad (“I don’t know why,” remarks the chef, who is clearly more of a carnivore himself) made up of chicory greens with red onions and tomatoes tossed in a Cajun Caesar dressing.

Don’t worry: Chef Claud most certainly has a sweet tooth. “For dessert, we’re going to do a bread pudding with banana foster sauce.”

Of course, what’s a party without great music? Pasadena legend, jazz guitarist Buddy Zapata will be performing alongside with The Screaming 8-Balls. Both acts will be rocking out through the whole event.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Pasadena Education Network or PEN. “It’s exciting to hook up with Pasadena Education Network. They’re a great group of people,” says Claud.

He hopes that this year they event will be a record-breaking fundraising year because there is no longer the cost of renting an event space due to their new location.

Help the chef reach his goals this year by participating in the delicious event! Tickets are $50.00 for the event. Kids 10 and under are free. Chef Claud encourages people to bring the whole family because, “it’s for kids and its benefitting kids in the end.”

Laissez les bon temps roulez!
