Curious about a high intensity, but low impact way to work your full body? It’s time you learned about Pilates. This workout program is a systematic approach to movement with a focus on core strength.
“The primary focus of Pilates is that proper movement patterns should originate from core strength. Because of that unique approach, Pilates has no prerequisites. You don’t have to be super strong or super flexible; you don’t even need to have a background in working out,” said Melissa Woolf Heger, Certified Pilates Instructor and owner of Gold Line Pilates.
She adds that Pilates is a great option for athletes and fitness fanatics who are looking for a change of pace or hoping to gain an edge and prevent injuries; people with mobility issues and sedentary lifestyles.
Participants can expect an hour-long full-body workout that emphasizes the importance of core strength and spinal mobility. Gold Line instructors are certified through rigorous and reputable training programs and are experienced in working with a plethora of injuries and body conditions.
“Pilates is really about precision,” she said. “At Gold Line Pilates, [sessions] are tailor-made according to your needs, goals and schedule.”
Gold Line Pilates is unique in that it only offers one-on-one, duet or trio training. Since there are no large classes, each participant can get the instructor’s full attention to ensure proper form and an individualized complete workout.
