Recently, Kristina Hamm Reed ’83 returned to Poly’s Upper School for a PolyConnect lunch. With over 35 students in attendance, Kristina’s career and path after Poly was inspiring to current Upper School students who engaged in conversation about graphic arts, film making, and working for Disney Animation. She was joined by Brian Venerable ’83 who helped facilitate the conversation.

Kristina attended Brown University after Poly, where she received her bachelor’s degree in creative writing. She has more than 20 years of experience in animation and visual effects, the last seven of which she has served on the Studio Leadership Team of Disney Animation Studios.

Kristina is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the International Animated Film Society. Her short films,“Paperman” and “Feast” won Oscars in 2013 and 2015, and she co-produced the Oscar-winning film “Big Hero Six.”
