This holiday season, Hillsides is placing holiday toy collection boxes in 99 Starbucks® stores throughout the San Gabriel Valley. The boxes will be in stores from December 9 through Christmas, and customers are encouraged to drop off unwrapped toys at any participating Starbucks.
“We are very thankful for Starbucks in San Gabriel Valley for supporting Hillsides during the holidays,” said Hillsides Chief Executive Officer Joseph M. Costa. “Starbucks began its first toy drive for us six years ago, and last year, placed toy collection boxes in some 50 stores. This year, the company is doubling the amount of stores the boxes have been placed in, which is wonderful news for the children and families in need that we serve.”
Jennifer Vanderpool, Starbucks Pasadena district manager, hopes the toy drive will help collect between 3,000 – 5,000 toys for Hillsides.
Not only is Starbucks hosting the Hillsides toy drive, 50 Starbucks partners (employees) volunteered their time to construct the 99 boxes for Hillsides.
Hillsides, founded in 1913 and headquartered in Pasadena, is a nonprofit child welfare agency serving children in foster care and families in crisis throughout Los Angeles County. To learn more about Hillsides, please visit www.hillsides.org.
