Some 75 guests were treated to an evening of music, food, wine, and good friends at the Hillsides gala sponsor reception on January 26 held at a private residence in La Canada. The reception was held to thank the major donors of Hillsides annual gala, Symphony of Dreams, to be held on February 27 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.
The highlight of the evening was the performance of Lyndon Johnston Taylor, the principal second violinist of the LA Philharmonic. He played three musical selections and was accompanied by pianist Jeong-Ah Ryu. The acoustics of the high-ceiled room were perfect for the performance. Other highlights of the evening were appetizers from Bistro 45, owned by last year’s Hillsides gala chairs, Robert and Deborah Simon, wines from the private collection of the hosts, Rod and Gina Guerra, and the appearance of Rayvon Owen, who will perform at the gala. Owen was a Season 14 top four finalist of “American Idol.”
