We all know and love the song “All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth.” Hopefully all the adults reading this currently have their two front teeth and there are some tips you can follow to keep your teeth in tip top shape over the holidays.
Watch the wine. Wine drinking probably goes up over the holidays. Your sister comments on your dress. Swig. Your mother asks about grandkids. Glug. Your brother mentions he has a car just like yours but newer. Gulp. You may need the wine but you don’t need the teeth stains. Be careful not to swish the wine around in your mouth and after every glass drink some water.
Sugar is a tooth decay bandit. It is impossible to turn down sugar over the holidays and frankly why would you want to? The best thing you can do is to brush your teeth after gobbling up some yummy cookies or pie. If you can’t get to a bathroom then drinking a glass of water or chewing sugarless gum to help keep the bacteria at bay.
Stress is a factor at the holidays. Who gets stressed at the holidays? Event the perfect hostess has some worries. It is best to try to avoid stress and relax because involuntary teeth clenching is not good for your jaw. So take a deep breath and paste on a smile. A smile is better than a clenched jaw any day and it will brighten the room around you.
