The Friends of South Pasadena Library’s Restoration Concert Series presents The East West Piano Trio featuring Ben Powell – violin, Cecilia Tsan – cello, and Bryan Pezzone – piano will perform – “Peer Gynt” Suite for Piano Trio, Edvard Grieg/Arrangement Hans Sitt; – Trio in C minor, Op. 8, Shostakovitch; Jazz – TBA; and Trio in D minor, Op. 63 – Schuman.
Ben Powell – Stands among a select few as one of the leading multi-stylistic improvising violinists of his generation; has performed at the Tanglewood Jazz Festival, with the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, the Boston Camerata; and has collaborated with 26 LA based musicians from cellist Lynn Harrell to jazz drummer Peter Erskine.
Cecilia Tsan – A graduate of the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris; has toured world-wide as a soloist and chamber musician; and currently serves as Principal Cellist with the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra.
Bryan Pezzone – pianist – Performs with nearly every established orchestra in Southern California such as the LA Chamber, LA Philharmonic, Muse-Ique, LA Master Chorale; and beginning the fall term 2017 will join the faculty of the LA College of Music.
The East West Trio will perform on Sunday, March 26, 2017 – 4:00 p.m. at the Community Room of South Pasadena Public Library. Tickets are $20.00 at the door.
