Nestled in the heart of Pasadena’s South Lake district, Del Frisco’s Grille will open on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014. The exciting new eatery combines the comfortable atmosphere of an American bar & grill with upscale entrees, an extensive wine list and handcrafted cocktails. Executive chef Angel Flores, a native of the San Gabriel Valley, will serve up classic dishes with bold flavors and local ingredients.
“Pasadena is a beautiful city with an amazing history and an expanded dining scene, and we’re excited to welcome guests with our genuine hospitality,” said Mark S. Mednansky, CEO of Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group. “Our distinct location, local flavors and communal tables and bar provide the perfect ambiance for friends, locals and visitors to gather and enjoy all that the Grille has to offer.”
The menu at Del Frisco’s Grille will feature local ingredients and bold flavors alongside Del Frisco’s classic dishes. Some shareable offerings include: Wood Oven-Baked Flatbreads, Cheesesteak Egg Rolls and Ahi Tacos. The menu is rounded out with a selection of prime steaks, hearty salads, juicy burgers, formidable sandwiches and chef-inspired entrees, as well as dishes with Southern California influence such as Grilled Artichoke, West Coast Fish Tacos and Steamed Brown Bag Fish, all with ingredients from the coast. The decadent brunch at the Grille includes an out-of-this-world Red Velvet Belgian Waffle, the signature Grille Benedict and carafes of mimosas and sangria.
Craft cocktails feature local ingredients and twists on classics. The wine list presents more than 300 wines carefully selected by Del Frisco’s wine director David O’Day. Wines are available by the glass, carafe and bottle. Craft beers on draft and by the bottle are available, including local favorites like Eagle Rock Brewery.
The Pasadena location is the third Del Frisco’s Grille to open in Southern California. There are 15 around the country. Del Frisco’s worked with SF Jones Architects to create a unique dining environment that draws from the essence in which the restaurant sits, giving it a social vibe with communal tables and an exhibition kitchen. Stephen Jones and his team have been major players in restaurant innovation in Southern California, designing renowned restaurants across the city. Together with Del Frisco’s Grille, they created an enticing combination of indoor and outdoor dining experiences, including a 650-square-foot covered patio that “borrows” part of the original interior space. The patio is clad in the same stone as the façade; covered by a trio of arched red awnings that reflect the buildings three arches and add a punch of color to the inviting and laid-back setting.
