Legendary singer-songwriter John Denver died in a plane crash years ago, but his award-winning songs will continue to soar during a tribute concert at the Coffee Gallery Backstage on Tuesday, January 10, at 8:00 p.m.
Denver’s popular hits include “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” “Annie’s Song,” “Rocky Mountain High” and “Sunshine on My Shoulders” which will be performed by tribute artist Jim Curry, whose voice was heard in the CBS-TV movie “Take Me Home: The John Denver Story.”
The 1970s artist is one of the most popular acoustic artists of the decade. He recorded and released approximately 300 songs, about 200 of which he composed, earning him 12 gold and four platinum albums.
The audience will go back to the 1970s as they hear Curry, who has the ability to mirror Denver’s voice, sing Denver’s hits with crystal clear tenor.
Curry will appear with his wife Anne, who plays mandolin and guitar, and sings in harmony with her husband.
Admission is $18.
