Imagine a magical land where you can view handmade swords and capes, stroll the grounds with an angel, and eat sweets similar to those in Hansel and Gretel.
All of these will come into reality during the 29th Annual Elve’s Faire at the Pasadena Waldorf School on Saturday, November 22, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
The magical event is filled with various activities, shops, feasting, auctions and prize drawings for children and adults of all ages.
Get creative by making hand-crafted treasures on the front lawn, or get extra wild by riding the Golden Ring and navigating the Rope Maze—where everyone gets away with a prize.
Once you get tired of the games, sit down and relax for the puppet show and storytelling to be led by Waldorf’s early childhood teachers, or listen to a variety of live musical performances as you walk across the ground.
Don’t forget to check out the Waldorf Room where the students’ works are displayed, and don’t let the magical moments slip away by stopping by Elves’ Forest Photo Studio.
For the students’ younger siblings who may not be old enough to play Waldorf’s other games, head to the Pixie Party where “younger and shorter” versions of the children’s games and crafts will be offered.
Because Holiday is already coming, try to drop by Waldorf’s various shops including the King Arthur’s Market where handmade swords, shields, capes and other crafted toys will be for sale.
The Faire will also feature the Wishing Well, which will showcase toys, art supplies, books and gifts; the Angel Room, where children can do all of their holiday shopping with the aid of an Angel (an eighth grader) who will guide them in buying gifts; and the Doll Room, an enchanted showcase of handmade dolls and knitted animals.
Unique gifts including fashion, jewelry, wellness, home and garden items will be featured in the Silent Auction and Holiday Boutiques.
The shopping, games and activities may leave you hungry. Don’t worry, Waldorf has the Fairies’ Feast and the Jack Frost Bake Shoppe where you can get a variety of food including sweets and treats.
The Tea Garden and beverage stations will also be onsite to keep you hydrated.
If you’re feeling really magical, then why not try to join the prize drawing where you may get some luck from your fairies and win any of the three big prizes.
The third prize is tickets for two to any show at the Pantages Theatre and dinner at Fabiolus Cucina. The second prize is two nights at the beautiful Pepper Tree Retreat and dinner for two at AZU Restaurant.
The grand prize is three nights and four days at Zoetry Casa Del Mar Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, as well as a round-trip airfare for two.
Admission to the Faire is free, but all games, crafts and food items are paid for with tickets. Prize drawing ticket costs $5 each.
