A Wrinkle in Time, the beloved fantasy adventure will open on March 10 and 11 at Sierra Madre Playhouse. Adapted for the stage by John Glore. Based on the book by Madeleine L’Engle. Directed by Christian Lebano. Produced by Estelle Campbell and Christian Lebano for Sierra Madre Playhouse.

One dark and stormy night, the eccentric Mrs. Whatsit arrives at the home of Meg Murry, a young teen who doesn’t fit in at her New England high school. Meg’s scientist Father vanished over two years ago, under mysterious circumstances. Aided by Mrs. Whatsit and her friends, Meg, her gifted brother Charles Wallace, and her friend Calvin are transported through time and space on a mission to rescue their Father from the evil forces that hold him prisoner on another planet. John Glore’s delightful, wildly theatrical adaptation brings Madeleine L’Engle’s acclaimed story magically to life.

Christian Lebano directs. The Artistic Director of Sierra Madre Playhouse, his directing credits include acclaimed productions of Woman in Mind, Driving Miss Daisy, Deathtrap, The Glass Menagerie and more. Also an actor, he most recently portrayed a pivotal character in the Playhouse’s production of Bee-luther-hatchee.

The company of actors for A Wrinkle in Time includes, in alphabetical order, Kristyn Chalker; recent Ovation Award nominee Cristina Gerla; Bonnie Grigsby; Ken Ivy; Cate Jo; Clayton McInerney; Caroline Simone O’Brien; Mike Rose; Lena Thomas; Mallory Marie Wedding. Some roles will be double-cast.

John Glore is the adapter/playwright. His other works for the stage include What She Found There; Stinking Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales; Preludes and Fugues; On The Jump; Peace; The Company of Heaven; and The Night Fairy.

A Wrinkle in Time, opens Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11 at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 12 at 2:30. Thereafter, Fridays at 8:00 and Saturdays at 2:30 through April 22, 2017. Admission is $30.
