The Junior League of Pasadena Inc., (JLP) will hold its annual Simply Speaking silent auction and dinner on on April 29, 2017. Proceeds from the event will support the Junior League of Pasadena’s community outreach initiatives and charitable efforts in Pasadena and the surrounding communities.
This year’s event features a keynote speech by Trina Turk, a local fashion designer known throughout the country for her bold and California-inspired line of contemporary apparel, shoes, and accessories.
“I am thrilled to welcome Trina Turk to Simply Speaking,” says Jennifer Goldman, President of JLP. “She embodies the Business, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership Skills that the Junior League of Pasadena is working hard to grow within the women of Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley through Lean-in Circles and our Women’s Career Workshops. She has a lot to offer our community and I know it’s going to be a fantastic event.”
This is the JLP’s fourth annual Simply Speaking event. This year’s fete will be held at the La Cañada Country Club and in addition to the address by Ms. Turk, will feature a silent auction, cocktail hour, and dinner. Additionally, there will be entertainment provided by local musicians trioKAIT and Megan Grano and Molly Erdman from the comedy group The BreakWomb. The JLP will also be presenting the Nancy Reed Payne Award to an exemplary sustaining member of the Junior League, and the Community Impact Award to a member of the greater Pasadena community who goes above and beyond in their service to the area.
