On Tuesday March 15, 2016, two community members, Charlotte Bland and Victoria Johnson have partnered with Pasadena City College’s Cosmetology Program and The Pasadena-Altadena Chapter of The Links Inc. to host a Spring Day of Pampering for clients at The Women’s Room at Friends in Deed.
The Women’s Room at Friends in Deed, which opened in September 2007 is a daytime refuge for women who are alone and homeless or at risk.
The day will start at 9:00 am and will bring ten Pasadena City College Cosmetology students and their instructor Tiffany Williams as they provide hair washing, cuts, blow drying and manicures. The Pasadena-Altadena Links are supporting this event with donations of personal hygiene items, and hair/apparel accessories.
The day will continue with tea, and a light lunch sponsored by The Tempting Palate Catering. At the end of the Spring Day of Pampering, clients will receive care packages filled with water, snacks, hygiene kits, socks and other essentials.
